Meta's avatar store, opportunities for designer clothes and the fashion industry metaverse evolution
Yoona.ai is the Multiverse Saas Company - “verse” means you are transported to another universe, and of course there are different universes coexisting at the same time. Our mission is to make it possible for fashion brands to offer their products in all co-existing universes with the same quality and reliability.
When I started my career 20 years ago, fashion was done drawing with pencils; then 3d started followed by Augmented Reality (AR) & Virtual Reality (VR); at yoona.ai our first step was professionalizing and perfecting digital fashion product creation and delivering it in 3d, AR & VR formats; second step enable Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyze all types of data & simplify the apparel value chain into just a few simple clicks - make designers life easier, fashion companies more profitable while circular & producing in a more sustainable & environmentally friendly way.
In this natural evolution, the Metaverse was the next chapter. The possibility to be next to someone who in reality is oceans away face to face in an immersive experience. The magic comes in the edge where reality experiences blend with virtual experiences - the importance of creating lookalike clothes & enriching our experiences is beyond fashion - a cultural matter.
Imagine going to virtual University with your new top and pants from Lacoste, making enriching connections with people all around the globe and right afterwards grabbing a coffee at Starbucks with the same outfit - allowing a local classmate to recognize you and start a real word conversation.
Well that is already happening today but yet no-one will recognize you.
The metaverse is without a doubt in a critical phase of birth and formation, in which different leading companies in their technology have to come together to be able to co-create better metaverses that are more like real life to make the combination of experiences reach a point of being almost negligible.
“When I see the square-headed avatars I am laughing (because they are so funny) and at the same time I’m happy realizing that we are in the right place making the right technological development not only for the fashion industry but for society in general.”
Anna F. Michel (Ceo & CO-Founder yoona.ai)
At Yoona.ai we are already creating digital clothes which pair with third parties stylized figures and result in natural clothes movements that enhance the body expression and the detail of the garments and even their fabrics; they really look like the latest outfits from Prada or LVMH and not to a piece of cardboard without any mobility.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced June 17th that the company is launching a digital designer clothing store called the “Meta Avatars Store.” Zuckerberg made the announcement during an Instagram Live with Instagram’s vice president of fashion partnerships Eva ChenIt .
It’s not a criticism at all of the avatars that can be chosen in meta, but a call to the urgent need for collaboration and cooperation between large, small, established, and startups, including governments or even city councils, to create more realistic verses.
Anna F.Michel (CEO & Co-Founder Yoona.ai)
Since the avatars will also communicate with their physicality it is important the embodiment we achieve so that the clothes they wear move with them. Real time 3d synchronicity plays a fundamental role. And here is where the proud of a mom comes since its exactly what we do at yoona.ai
When you interact with others, you’re continuously giving and receiving wordless signals. All of your nonverbal behaviors—the gestures you make, your posture, your tone of voice, the way you walk on the catwalk or the street —send strong messages. They can put people at ease, build trust, and draw others towards you, or they can offend, confuse, and undermine what you’re trying to convey.
Our vision is a Multiverse in which options are given to all in such a realistic way you blend into different worlds and in which technology enables it to happen in a circular & sustainable way.
Metaverse is not replacing real world the same that 3d & AI is not replacing fashion designers or jobs, on the contrary it will enable us to create more, unlocking new opportunities & generating more business.
“I am meta happy to be part of that revolution”
Anna F. Michel (CEO & CO-Founder Yoona.ai)
